Alan Roberts (2007– Present at EMC2)
Dr. Alan Roberts is Vice President at EMC2, where he oversees company management and spearheads coroporate strategy in Polywell R&D. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield in England.
Before joining EMC2, Dr. Roberts held significant positions in the U.S. Navy, including Head of the Energy Plans, Policy and Technology Branch at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations from 1994 to 2007, where he managed Navy energy efficiency programs and alternative, non-petroleum energy technologies for ships, aircraft, and on-shore facilities. Additionally, he served as Director of the Navy Energy and Natural Resources R&D Office at the Office of Naval Research from 1985 to 1994.
Dr. Roberts has received numerous accolades for his contributions, including the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award in 2007, the highest honor awarded by the Chief of Naval Operations, and a Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management in 2003. His leadership has been instrumental in EMC2's successful execution of several U.S. Navy contracts, driving critical technological developments.
